Cotton Clouds Island

Day 2

On the second day of our trip, we had to prep and be ready to be picked up by our tour guide (Siao Yang) at 7.00 a.m. sharp. This meant we had to crawl out of our bed at 6.00 a.m. or earlier to prep and be on the set. But be reminded Bangkok’s time is an hour earlier than Malaysia, so literarily I can doze off until 7.00 a.m. Malaysian time.

This is where we headed to after a hearty breakfast in our hotel. The jetty at Chao Phraya River. Nothing great to shout about… Dirty murky water with rubbish floating all over in the river.

We took our place in the ferry and was brought across the river to a famous temple, namely the Wat Arun Temple.

Weather was sunny and sticky hot. Siao Yang allow us to loiter around for just 30 minutes and we frantically look for good spots to take picture instead of marvelling at the historical artifacts and buildings. Ah, one of the cons of guided travelling

Our next stop was at Pattaya’s Sriracha Tiger Zoo, and to tell you, the trip to that place vide van is not a comfortable ride. The road to the zoo was so congested and I literarily dozed off on the whole journey.

When we reached there, I personally thought the zoo would be a let down, but to my surprise… This is what we saw inside.

Pigs.. BIg gigantic pig mother nursing piglets and tiger cubs. It was so cute!!! Mind you, the mother pig is so huge that I guess 3 me wouldn’t even match 1 mother pig’s weight!

Then we saw something funnier. See what Hui Ming is pointing at? So damm cute eh…….. Piglets dressed as tiger cubs. And the big tiger didn’t even chomp them up. They had a big happy nap together. Look at how enthusiastic Hui Ming was. Hui Ming and I laughed our stomach out looking at the cute little pigs~

The piglets weren’t scared of the huge tiger dozed at the corner, and was so brave to plop on the tiger’s stomach. Such cute scenario.

Crocodiles are another tourist attraction in the Zoo. This is an interesting one. These are dead baby crocs, preserved and arranged inside a small house to resemble students and teacher interacting in a classroom. I ached my neck to take the best shoot of the small, cramped classroom.

All of us took the rare opportunity to pose with a tiger cub while in the Zoo, of course we are charged to do so… but I forgot how much it costed… if not mistaken, should be RM15.00. The baby tiger was in a daze, until Hui Ming directed the milk bottle to it, and suddenly it charged with such full force at the milk bottle, sulking away Super cute.

This taxi wasn’t any ordinary taxi. According to Hui Sim, drivers of green taxis are specially trained in midwifery. I mean MIDWIFERY. Assisting mothers-to-be giving birth in the taxi itself, should the conditions require so. Whoa…

I was surprised to know Bangkok is so traffic-congested until they provide for taxi drivers to be prepared for that, in case mothers-to-be can’t make it to the hospital in time.

We cruised through Pattaya streets, saw all the go-go girls entertaining western guys. The bars along the road are all open for eyes to see, and we could see those girls flirting around, buying drinks and dancing sexily away.

The Pattaya Hard Rock Cafe was our last destination for the day. We just stopped at the entrance to take pictures, then was hastily whisked away by Siao Yang to head back to our hotel to end the day.
