Coincidence or an off-track luck?
Last night I had a dream. Dreamed that I went into a Toto Jack-Pot outlet to try out my luck on a 4-digit number "3313".
Heck it, I was never serious in gambling and until now I still had difficulties understand how much bet to gain any amount of winnings. I even had trouble every year trying to recall how to play black jack and poker card games during chinese new years. I think my younger cousins are more expert than me on these kind of entertainments.
Now talking about that dream. I woke up and felt funny. FUNNEEE. It was just not so me… So out of the some sort queasy feeling I tricked my dad to buy that number for me.
Me: Dad, Ah Fei’s mom wanna buy some no. She asked for my favour. Oh, can I get Mom to buy for her? (Me is a potential pretend-queen, inherited the ingenious trait from my Dad. Me also too jakun, don’t know how to place bet at those gambling outlets. :P)
Dad: Oh… no need. I am going out. What no.? Placing how much bet? RM100 big RM100 small?
Me: …….
Dad: ??
Me: RM1 big RM1 small? …Can ar?
Dad: Aiyo… so small bet meh? Did you hear wrongly or what?
Me: … (starting to sweat profusely) Ai-yah! I dunno lah! She wants it lar, not me. (As if..)
So my dad obediently went and bought and passed the ticket to me.
Moments later Ah Fei came and we both went out, in my still-new-but-no-longer-brand-new Viva. And God knows why today the sky was raining damm heavily, like cats and dogs are falling and tumbling down from the sky. He wanted to fetch me to his house, and due to the super heavy downpour there were flash flood at several spots along the hi-way. Knee high waters. Fei just accelerated my car and we braved through the knee-high murky waters. Nothing bad happened. All went smooth, we reached Fei’s house and we come down from the car.
Then…
Aiyakkkkkk……. My front number plate wasn’t there anymore. Gone. More likely went swimming in the flood waters and never to return. Good bye my Viva front number plate. I shall miss you dearly. Wish you enjoy your freedom and have fun swimming with the longkang fishes.
Next morning, out of curiosity I checked the newspapers for the betting results and nearly fainted when I saw it. My car no. came out first prize in Toto-Jackpot. Didn’t hit on that.
Waste my money only. Ceh. Never going to place any bet again. &^%$@$@!#
